8 Things Your Cat is Actually Thankful For

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! As you start making preparations for the autumn holiday, your feline buddy will no doubt be watching you closely, and supervising your every move. We are definitely very thankful for our furry friends! After all, Fluffy fills our lives and homes with love, laughter, and purrs. But if your cat were to list the things she was grateful for, what do you think would make the list? A Wake Forest, NC vet offers some possible options below.

Does your kitty take her morning and afternoon naps in sunbeams? While we’re fairly sure that cats don’t actually run on solar power, they do like to recharge by soaking up the sun!

Good Food

Proper nutrition is very important to your furry friend’s health! Giving your kitty good, high-quality food will keep her motor running!

Warm Laps

Kitties can be quite the little cuddlebugs! When Fluffy hops into your lap and settles down, she almost always starts her motor and gets that cute satisfied look happy cats often wear.

Comfy Furniture

Cats are always looking for comfy sleeping spots. Your pet may move from one favorite place to another for all of her scheduled naps. Your beds, couches, and chairs are probably all in regular rotation. Fluffy may even occasionally use the furniture you bought her!

One easy way to please your furry overlord is to regularly provide her with fun new toys to smack around. Kitties love getting new toys! They also appreciate it when their humans take time to play with them. (Of course, Fluffy may show her appreciation in some odd ways, but that’s another topic.)

Clean Litterboxes

Our feline friends prefer clean litterboxes, and who can blame them? No one likes a dirty bathroom!

No one is entirely sure why cats are so obsessed with boxes. One possibility is that they feel safe in small spaces. However, Fluffy also seems to enjoy boxes that are clearly too small for her. Either way, we suspect boxes would make the list.

Cats may have a reputation for being cold and aloof, but that really isn’t fair. Some kitties are super affectionate! Even if Fluffy isn’t much of a snuggler, she’ll still appreciate good care.
