Dr. Josh Zlotnick was born outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Passionate about veterinary medicine, he came to North Carolina to study at Duke University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Marine Biology. Having quickly fallen in love with North Carolina, Dr. Zlotnick decided to become a resident and earn his veterinary degree from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Zlotnick feels honored to serve the healthcare needs of companion animals in North Raleigh. His specific interests include Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine. He also spent time studying Fish and Aquaculture Medicine as fish are common, but underserved patients.
Dr. Zlotnick sees himself not only as an animal doctor, but as a veterinary medical educator. His love of learning is contagious. He strongly believes that the best patient outcomes are a result of clear communication and teamwork between pet owners and veterinarians. Dr. Zlotnick’s goal is to help owners understand their pet’s health and the reasons behind every diagnostic, treatment and preventative plan.
Dr. Zlotnick is an avid bread baker. Waking up early and taking simple ingredients to create something that makes people happy is priceless to him. He also enjoys trail running and has a green thumb for houseplants.
Dr. Zlotnick enjoys volunteering with the Wake up and Read Book Drive. He attributes his enthusiasm for reading and learning to having had access to books as a young child.
