Dr. Stephen Fox

Dr. Stephen Fox was born and raised in Raleigh.  He received his degree in biological sciences from North Carolina State University and went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). After graduation, he completed a one-year rotating internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists in Chesapeake, Virginia, a one-year surgical internship at MedVet in Dayton, Ohio, and a one-year surgical internship at the VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona. He then spent the next few years at Memphis Veterinary Specialists and Emergency as a primary emergency veterinarian before electing to return home.  Dr. Fox’s professional interests include wound therapy, advanced wound management, all types of surgery, and sports medicine/rehabilitation.

When he’s not at work, you can usually find Dr. Fox working around the house, spending time with his two young children, or participating in an outdoor activity. He lives an active lifestyle and enjoys ultralight back-country backpacking, mountain biking, trail running, fishing, ultimate frisbee, triathlons (both olympic style and xterra), and supporting the Wolfpack.

Dr. Fox’s four-legged family members consist of four dogs and two cats named Ace (Border Collie mix), Lexi (Australian Cattle Dog mix), Ryker (Beagle/Basset Hound mix), Chase (Australian Cattle Dog), Tessa (domestic shorthair cat), and Fink (domestic shorthair cat).
